Best temp in Chiswick.
From Doctor Who Series 4: Journey’s End
Likely the genius moment of the whole season, and in hopes for the next, why I’ll continue to watch. Also: fantastic acting!

Meteorologist to producer: “I used my IFB when I went jogging yesterday. It’s awesome because it never falls out of your ear, but I was half expecting to hear time cues every 30 seconds.”

Day 01:
Favorite Doctor
The Tenth Doctor will always have a special place in my heart. The Ninth was my first Doctor, but the Tenth is MY Doctor. He’s the one who really made me love the show. I cried hardcore when he regenerated into Matt…not that I don’t love him too. Just not as much.
I do love Christopher’s “fantastic,” and heart-warming Doctor, and Matt’s quirky, Raggedy-Man. But Tennant’s cavalier, rude Doctor will be my favorite forever.
Seconded!

“He found a space next to our two leads, who already seemed rather complete. But he actually- once he comes in, it’s quite hard to imagine the show without him…”

Does The New Yorker look dangerous this week? Or do the drawings throughout the issue, by R. Kikuo Johnson, look like any number of people in America, in all sorts of circumstances? View the slide show and read our coverage of the Trayvon Martin case.

[Alan Lomax] imagined a tool that would integrate thousands of sound recordings, films, videotapes and photographs made by himself and others. He hoped the Global Jukebox would make it easy to compare music across different cultures and continents using a complex analytical system he devised — kind of like Pandora for grad students. But the basic idea was simple: Make it all available to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Joel Rose reports on how volunteers have realized the folklorist’s Global Jukebox dream. (via nprmusic)Great story.
